Zdenek was born in Lidice to Zdenek and Ruzena Petrik. He lived there with his parents in house number 97. His father was the teacher at the school. On June 10th he and his mom were still at their house. When the Gestapo noticed the smoke coming from the chimney they took them on a motorcycle to the Kladno school, where all the other Lidice women and children were. Zdenek was deported to Lodz and then to Chelmno with the other children of Lidice. They were all gassed in a van. Zdenek was only 13 months old when he was sadly killed.
