Boarded Lusitania 2nd class with her parents and brother to return to England. The ship was struck by a torpedo from a German U-boat in the midst of the Mid-Atlantic ocean off the coast of Ireland. The whole family perished during the sinking. Only Ailsa's body was recovered.
