Find Cybersecurity Job Abroad, Choose A Career Path

Card image cap

Hi there, I was wondering what cybersecurity jobs/careers can give you the most opportunities to work abroad. I mean being employed by a foreign company in another country, for example working for a company in EAU, Asia Pacific, US, Australia... Or work for a foreign company 100% remotely which will allow me to travel or settle where I want. I know there is the issue of work visa and requirements, taxes and legal issues. But for what kind of profiles do you think the recruiters are willing to sponsor you or let you work 100% remotely for them?

Are pentesters really in demand worldwide so that you can get a sponsorship, find a MSSP to work for remotely? Is it preferable to choose the blue team path and becoming an expert SOC Analyst, DFIR Analyst? Will GRC provide you with the most opportunities abroad?

I have landed a cybersecurity role as a Cybersecurity Analyst in a public administration in the EU (France). The role isn't too much technical for the moment, I'm involved in some governance and compliance, some incidents to manage (mainly phishing), the SOC is externalized for the moment. We are trying to implement CTI tools. I still hesitate on what cyber career path I should focus as my end goal is to work abroad.

Thank you for your testimonies!
