Top Donald Trump Aide To Run For Congress

Brian Jack, one of Donald Trump’s top lieutenants and longest-serving aides, filed to run for Congress in Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District on Thursday.

A Fayette County native, Jack, 36, will be running for the seat held by Rep. Drew Ferguson (R-Ga.), who announced his retirement in December.

Trump encouraged Jack to run in a post made to Truth Social on Thursday morning in which he said his longtime aide should “go for it, pursue his dream, and run for Congress.” Trump said that if Jack decided to run, he would have his “Complete and Total Endorsement!”

Jack has been involved in Trump operations since joining the 2016 campaign, when he worked as the national delegate director. He went on to serve in the White House as political director. After Trump’s 2020 election loss, Jack went to work for then-House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy but also remained close to Trump and his team, helping to guide the 2022 midterm endorsement process and efforts to win back the House.

During the 2024 primary, Jack orchestrated Trump’s nationwide push to win endorsements from Republican members of Congress, and had served as Trump’s de facto liaison to Capitol Hill. Alex Latcham, a top Trump campaign political adviser, will succeed Jack in the role, according to a person familiar with the decision who spoke about internal staffing on condition of anonymity. Jack will remain an adviser to the campaign and will help build out Trump’s operation in Georgia, a key battleground state.

Jack enters the race as the favorite, given his support from the former president, and from the extensive political network he developed while working for Trump and McCarthy. The seat, encompassing Georgia's third district, is reliably Republican.
