My Cat Has An Emotional Problem And Doesn't Eat. Veterinarians Can't Help

Card image cap

I have a approximately 3 year old female cat, and recently she underwent a procedure to remove a tooth due to a diagnosed virus. Currently, she no longer has issues with her mouth area, but she refuses to drink water or eat. She doesn't want to move and has drastically lost weight.

My cat has always been very sensitive to change; for example, she wouldn't drink water if I suddenly changed her water bowl. I think the stress of losing a tooth and being at the vet, combined with recent remodeling of my house, might be affecting her. Despite having no energy at all, she occasionally tries to eat her regular food, but she can't manage more than 2 pieces. It seems like she doesn't have the energy to chew (I tried giving her wet food, and she didn't eat). Lately, I've been giving her 'Churu' of all flavors, as she seems to like it, although I'm not sure if it's providing enough nutrition and she doesn't eat in big quantities. In addition to the 'Churu,' she also eats regular grass, the kind that is rough on one side. She possibly does this instinctively, because her stomach hurts.

She also tends to hide under the bed and behind furniture. When I take her out of those places, I try to keep her close to me, and she doesn't seem bothered, but after a while, she returns to dark and hard-to-reach places.

Tonight, she tried to vomit but nothing came out, only foam. The vomiting contractions caused her to soil herself, both feces and urine. She urinated on herself twice, and I believe she may have some kind of infection or discomfort, as she attempted to use her litter box but nothing came out.

Note: I have taken her to the vet, and they only recommend giving her 'appetite pills.' There are no animal behavior specialists where I live, and if I want to consult elsewhere, it costs $70< and I am not in the financial situation to spend that amount.
