Somebody Is Asking For Ransom After Cloning My Website
Hello,
I own a website, let's say something like 'www. reddito .com', now I noticed that somebody has bought the domain 'www. reddito . ai' and has completely cloned my website including my logo and website name. Now it's appearing on search engines. How can I go about this?
A lot of places are suggesting DMCA but I don't own trademarks and didn't apply for some kind of copyrights. I own the website and have done so for years, with proof. Is this considered copyright enough? The person has basically cloned my website completely and trying to appear as me.
Now I also got a message from him that he wants money to which I haven't replied. Is it needed to get a lawyer or can I go about this myself? Is DMCA something that's on the table and get the job done?
