Quit Remote Job And They Won't Tell Me How To Ship Equipment Back

I'm in Wisconsin. The job is in another state. I left a job briefly after starting it to take a better one in late February. My manager there said he'd have IT reach out to me personally to get my stuff sent back over, with them paying for the shipping. After not hearing anything for a few weeks, I reached out to him to ask if they were going to contact me. He said he'd check on it. More weeks pass, he responds asking me if I've heard anything, I said no I haven't, he said he'll check on it again. Now more weeks have passed.
I live in a small apartment and I don't have room for a bunch of boxes full of monitors, laptop and all this other crap. I'm not gonna pay to store this somewhere else. Nor am I paying to ship it all back on my own, especially since I don't want them saying "oh you mailed it to the wrong place" or that they didn't receive it.. Before anyone asks, no I'm not trying to steal their equipment, it's just a crappy work laptop and headset and camera etc and some monitors. I just want it out of my damn apartment and I'm tired of staring at it every day.
What I'm trying to figure out is at what point can I just go donate this stuff or something? Surely I can't be expected to just store their stuff for them forever? I don't care how I get rid of it, I just want it gone, and I'm tired of waiting for these guys to let me send it to them. I don't even know what kind of lawyer to ask about this.
