Personal Injury Claim - Slipping And Falling
Location: British Columbia.
I slipped and fell on ice eight months ago in the ally behind my house. There was at least one witness. I didn’t get his name but he was a garbage truck driver so, in theory, findable. I think the people in the apartment heard me scream as well because they called out and asked if everything was okay. I broke my arm very badly and had to pay out of pocket for quite a lot of physiotherapy and massage. I do not know if the location of where I fell was City or private property. It was very close to the apartment behind mine, next to their garage driveway. When that apartment was built a few years ago, it caused a lot of damage to the ally and the area had to be repaved. There are areas where the paving is sort of raised and this is where I slipped. The ice was very bad that day and there was no salt or gravel. Do I have a case for personal injury? Would I have to determine if it was the apartment’s property or the City?
