News Article Exaggerated Allegations Made Against Me

A few years ago an investigation was started due to an inappropriate comment I made at work (no criminal behavior of any kind), and my lawyer at the time advised me not to sit down for an interview. The lawyer also had very limited information. There was no more news or outreach, no charges, no firing. It’s been a couple years.

Recently a news article came out covering a larger story, however my name was mentioned, as well as exaggerated allegations against me essentially lumping me in with the more egregious parts of the story. This is destroying my life.

I don’t know what to do.
