My Wife Got A Promotion As Part Of A Counter-offer And Now She's Being Threatened With A Demotion
My wife got an offer from another company to leave her current job
Her current company made a counter-offer which involved a promotion, which she accepted
It's been a little less than a year since
Her manager left the company and his replacement is claiming that her performance isn't matching her current title
The implication is that she will be demoted if she doesn't reach the require performance level in a month's time
Does anyone have insight on the legalities here? I know America has fuck-all for worker protections, but this feels super scummy.
