Moving Out Of An Illegally Subletted Apartment In Florida, Please Help!

Hey there. So in December, I moved into an apartment a girl was renting out. Now, she was renting the room at a profit and not legally subletting it. Like she just let people move in and charge an extra $280 per person on the rent. The apartment complex does not know, and I also never signed anything upon moving in. Due to some personal issues I've decided to leave, and I move in two days.
Is there any legal standing to not paying the "rent" for the next month? She did not know I was leaving until today. Also, I freaked out because I don't want any altercations coming up with the roomate that is there, so I texted "I can pay the rent". Is this legally binding, rather than saying "I will pay the rent".
The whole situation is a sh*tshow.
