Live In Nanny Being Kicked Out Of Housing With A Day In Advance
Hello! I am an aupair/ travel nanny in Hawaii and I had a contract where housing and food are included with a salary. We were contracted the end of August and the contract said I am an at will employee, with a month advance given to either party who wants to end it. So, if I wanna quit, or she fires me, we have a month. I have also 7 vacation days accrued.
So, last week, I basically quit and she said how long do you want, and I told her, doesn’t it have to be for a month longer, and she said whatever I want, so I told her this: I am going on vacation Monday to another Hawaii island and coming back Thursday. She knew this for months now. I suggested that after I go to the vacation, I am go on a longer vacation, use the rest of my 7 days. And then I leave (she is subjected to pay for my return flight home) That will give me ample time to prepare my little house and pack my life away.
However, she just emailed me on Saturday night that I need to leave the ohana by Monday and I can leave my things in her house and after my vacation I can come back to get them. I have A DAY to leave. Oh also, I am given a car with my contract, she revoked the car immediately.
I really need help. This is definitely breaking our contract and she doesn’t care. She says that she needs me gone by Monday because she goes back to work Tuesday and she needs the ohana(house) for another nanny. She knew of this vacation for MONTHS. She had time to prepare for help this week (usually her ex helps) Please somebody help me fast. Thank you
