Items Sold At Auction Incorrectly

Posting on behalf of a friend. Location: Wisconsin

About 8 months ago my friend put 6 items for sale at an art boutique. These would have been consignment pieces with a retail value of approximately $3000.

In May the store closed without notice. The owner defaulted on their loan and the property went to foreclosure. My friend attempted to contact the owner of the boutique, the building owner, and the real estate agent listed on the property over the course of the past 6 months. She has phone records as well. Additionally the head of the local chamber of commerce has documentation of reaching out to the auction house and real estate agent to identify the consignment items and share who they should go back to.

Today there was a private auction (invite only) and her items were sold for $100 total. The realtor finally got in touch and effectively said "not my problem they're sold now".

Does she have any recourse here to get her art or the money she should have made from the sale?
