Income From A Youtube Channel

Can you be in low income housing and start making income from a YouTube Chanel that would not be enough net income for you to get off section 8? I want to start a YouTube channel but I’m scared if someday I get subscribers and want to make some income on the side or to offset costs associated with running my channel since I’m basically poor.

I have not started because I don’t want any legal trouble. I’m on SSI and have already done a benefits analysis. As far as SSI is concerned as long as my total income is below 1900 a month I’m ok to still receive Medicaid.
