I Was Fired After Making An Hr Complaint

Me and my wife just got a new job at a dog grooming salon. The managers were super cool at first and allowed us to work the same hours. We were told we would be the only groomers working at the location but they had bathers on staff to help us out. There were also no managers on staff at our location. We'd been working there for a little over two weeks at this point.
One of the higher up managers came in last Friday to check up on how we were doing and let us know they had decided to make a check list we and the bathers would go through for every dog we completed to make sure they were up to standard, which we were okay with and learned how to do with the manager.
This evolved into sending multiple pictures of every dog (front, back, left side, right side, face, feet, ect) to that manager and having her check off before we could let the parents know their dog was ready. Because she had all the locations doing this, and every groomer takes many dogs a day this turned into a huge problem.
We would end up sending pictures and then waiting 10, 20, 40 minutes for a reply and then be told "you can take the feet a little shorter" which meant dogs were spending waaayyy past their time being groomed as we tried to shuffle between all the dogs to meet all of her demands.
Today we had multiple "project dogs" (dogs that are overly aggresive or anxious for grooming) and it turned into utter chaos. I ended up getting bit to the point of having a bruise by a dog and the manager said she didnt care and to keep fixing it. My wife decided to call our HR representative and told her "We understand you want to make sure were putting out a good product, but its stressing us out, its stressing the dogs out, were running way behind schedule and were struggling" The HR rep said she would talk to the manager about it and then it was dead silent for the rest of the day.
We ended up finishing about two hours late and while we were cleaning up the HR rep and the manager came in and told us we were fired and to pack our things in front of our coworker.
Is there anything I can legally do about this? We live in Texas and I read they can fire you at will and not give a reason here.
