I Was Evicted. Is There Any Way To Get This Off My Record? Should I Pay The Outstanding Balance?

I'm an addict. Relapsed in April and moved back home to get help.

There was 3 months left on my lease but I just moved out, did not inform my property manager and stopped paying rent.

They evicted me.

I believe they served me notices but I was not there to receive them and did not show up to court.

Obviously, I regret this deeply and understand I fucked up colossally.

I want to clean this up so that I can hopefully be able to rent again one day.

I believe the total owed is $8K. I have $8K and I can pay it. Should I just call them and do this? Or should I get a lawyer to facilitate?

Is there any way on earth to get an eviction off your record once you have been evicted or will it be there forever?

I am more ashamed than you can imagine. I haven't told a soul - even telling Reddit is hard. But I really do not know what to do. I'm scared to call my property manager directly without knowing what to expect. I know that I should have done a million things differently but, unfortunately, these are the choices that I already made and I can't go back in time. I would love advice on how to move forward.
