How To Handle The Affairs Of A Semi-transient Deceased Person.

My 37 year old sister was living in Indiana and went to the ER in that state. The hospital proceeded send her via life flight to OH without any of her belongings. She sadly passed away at the medical center in OH. I am her only adult next of kin, and I have no idea what I am responsible for taking care of as far as final affairs go. I live in FL, so I’m not even in the same area of the country. The hospital in Indiana lost her personal belongings, which leaves me without any information at all. I’m not sure if she drove to the hospital with a car that is still sitting there or if someone drove her. I say all of this to ask if I should be doing something to investigate where she was and what items may be in her “estate.” She has 2 young children, if that makes a difference. I’m fairly certain that she was on SSDI and planned to call them today, but realized last night that her death certificate has the wrong social on it. I have been searching the internet but can’t really find any legal advice on what is required of next of kin in this sort of situation. If you have any ideas, I’m all ears.
