How Do I Document 6 Years Of Rental History, Without A Lease? Maryland Usa

I've been living with a friend (his mother technically owns the house now, but she doesn't live here) since summer of 2018. I've been paying rent each month to him, which he would send to the owner of the house. I have a record of this technically through Venmo.

I'm looking to move out soon for a myriad of reasons, but now I realized I would need some sort of rental history for most apartment complexs. How would I go about making an official (or semi official/useable) lease and rental history. Could I just fill out a template and have me and his mom sign it? Would a regular word document that says I've been a good tenant for 6 years be useable? Or is there some other process or form?
