Fired For Not Giving Boss Medical Records.

Card image cap

So I was out sick for one day. I contacted my boss before my shift started and told him I was running a fever couldn't make it in etc. I went to the doctor got some medication and a doctors note and came back to work the next day. I gave my boss the doctors note and he said a doctors note wasn't sufficient. He said he needs to see the "packet" they give to you at the doctors office that states what was wrong with you. I told him I didn't have it (I never keep those anyways I just throw them away). Then he said I couldn't return to work without it and I said something to the effect of. "Isn't that a hippa violation to force me to give up my medical records" and he got all pissed off and made me leave. What are my legal options here? I am in texas btw.
