Employer Threatened To Terminate For Discussing Wages

I work at a dental office in NC and the office manager pulled me in her office 10 minutes after I got here this morning to tell me that 2 employees had come to her upset because I told them how much I made an hour and I had asked about how much they made. I make less than everyone in the office so I don't understand why those people would be upset. I was told that it caused chaos. She told me that she would put it on my file that it was discussed with me, but that having conversations around compensation are grounds for termination. What can I do in this situation?

I've known for several years that this particular thing is illegal, I looked it up specifically for NC and it is. She said it was in the handbook I signed when I got hired on and that it was discussed at hiring (I do not remember her mentioning that I'm not allowed to discuss wages). I looked through the handbook front to back and saw nothing mentioned about discussing wages.
