Dog Bite

Hello, my dog got out of the dog park in Virginia. A woman got bit and her dog has a broken toe. I agreed to pay the 1500 dollar ER visit. Animal control was called and my dog is on a 10 day quarantine (i immediately got in contact with a dog trainer and hes going to a boarding trainer for 3 weeks after his 10 day quarantine). We had a text agreement that stated I would pay for the vet bill and now she wants to make me pay for follow up visits. I refused and said i couldnt afford to do that and she threatened legal action. I talked her down from that but am i legally obligated to pay for follow up visits? If she does end up going the legal route, what are my next steps?
