Divorce And Student Loans

I got divorced and the judge said I have to pay half of my ex wife's student loan payments. When she makes a payment she only has to make half then I pay the other half. They wanted to do it at first with letter correspondence.
So she would make the payment mail me a letter, hope I get it in time and some how make the payment. I said no and told them email would work better.
My legal question is. How am I supposed to pay the half when I'm not on her account and can't pay the student loan company? And they didn't even set a date for the payments. Just I guess whenever she decides to pay on them, could be next month or next year. Does this sound right to you all?
