Demand For Possession And Notice To Vacate 2 Weeks After Moving In.
We rented a home through Invitation Homes (the official website) in GA and signed the lease on May 16th. We are fully paid up on rent and deposits. We came home today to an envelope from an attorney's office saying they represent invitation homes and that we have 3 days to vacate, by the 29th. It's a Sunday today, and a holiday tomorrow, which leaves us with one day to sort this out and I am freaking out! We haven't had any communication from Invitation Homes that anything is wrong. The letter was addressed to John Doe and unknown occupants and basically called us squatters, but our lease and everyone I have spoken to leading up to signing was a verified employee of IH so I don't think it's a scam lease. What does one do in this situation? Please help.
