Charged For A Lawn Service I Didn’t Order Or Approve.

Michigan, US I’ve been using a lawn service to fertilize our lawn for several years. I’ve had service issues before, but have stayed a customer. They started requiring a credit card be kept on file and then charging as they applied a monthly service. I don’t like it, but didn’t worry I’d be charged unnecessarily. Last year they suggested aerating our lawn. We agreed and paid for it in 2023. We have declined it in the past due to money and not feeling the lawn needs it every year. This spring, 2024, they came out and aerated our lawn and charged my card 135.00. I was never asked if I wanted this extra service. I emailed and then called their customer service and I was met with a customer service person ready to fight saying I signed up for it. Apparently, if I had it done last year, I’m automatically signed up for it every year!!! without anyone asking if I wanted this extra service. I filed a dispute with My cc company and they refunded the payment. Today I got a bill from the lawn company asking me to pay. What are my legal options here? I was totally unaware that getting a aeration once meant I was agreeing to it every year. Thanks!
