Car Towed Well Before 72 Hr Parking

Hi - I had my car parked legally on the street around the corner from where I live (I recently bought another car and only have one space) I am very aware of street cleaning days and the 72 hour parking law in the state of California. The car was parked for roughly 48 hours. Earlier this evening I went to check on the car and it was gone. I called the police dept. to report it stolen and was informed that it had been towed for having been parked for over 72 hours. Now, I know that this is 100% false but my car is sitting in an impound yard until I can go there in the morning. I'm guessing one of the residents living on the block where it was parked called to have it towed. The process of reporting an "abandoned" vehicle in California is to wait at least 72 hours before reporting after which a representative will be in contact the next day. So, the individual who called to falsely report my car as being "abandoned" clearly called within 24 hours of my car being parked. My car has a motion activated dashboard camera which absolutely recorded any and all events regarding this parking issue. I am afraid to mention this in fear that the tow company may possibly tamper with it. The reputation of the tow company is abysmal with endless negative Yelp reviews and complaints to the BBB. I feel like I'm about to face a losing battle. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
