Can Grandparents Call The School And Get Your Grades If They Do Not Have Custody?
just found out my grandparents recently called my school, i am a senior in high school(public school). they do not have custody of me, but are at the very bottom of my emergency contact list. apparently my principal gave them all of my grade and attendance information, which slightly feels like a violation, since they are the type of grandparents who expect straight A's.
the school knows they do not have custody of me in any way. my grades and attendance are not doing the greatest this year because of other things that i have been dealing with this year. they called my parents to yell at them about how bad i am doing in school, but i feel like they never should have been able to get this information in the first place. why is/ is this even legal?? i live in the united states
