Building A Handgun At 18 In Florida Legal Advice?
Location: Florida (Suncoast Area) I’m 18 and wanting to build my own handgun for strictly personal use, I know federal law doesn’t have an age restriction on the construction of firearms for personal use, but I’ve been struggling to find an answer concerning my specific situation, I’ve grown up around firearms my whole life, I’m safe with them and I have nothing that would prohibit me from owning one, such as being a felon, and so on, I’ve never been pulled over or anything for that matter, I want to go about this the right way and know the laws concerning this, I am wanting to build a p80 which doesn’t have a serial for the lower, but is legal under federal law as I’m wanting to build it for personal use, I would have to have it be serialized if I’m selling it or transferring it, which I have no intention of doing that, as I’m only using it for personal purposes such as fishing and going to a private range, and everything I’m wanting to do complies with ATF regulations and rules concerning the construction of a firearm, I was told by a coworkers bf who is a cop in a neighboring city and he said I’m in a grey area of the law but he’s not too sure of the laws concerning my situation, I understand that many cops don’t poses the legal knowledge of specific circumstances such as mine and I’ve been struggling to find anything for that matter that would help me make my decision, if anyone knows anything about my situation I would appreciate some advice on how to go about my situation, thank you! :)
