An Entity Claims To Want To Contact Legal Documents, Says They Have A Case Number But When I Check The Local Courts No Such Case Number Exists.
Civil process servers have been attempting to contact me claiming to deliver legal documents for over 9 months over the phone haven't received any notices in person, no knock on the door or any attempts at work, even so far as to contact a previous landlord. Yet these "case numbers" they reference have changed several times. I have paid a service fee to the county courts to look up My name for the last 20 years and nothing, there's no case that matches up.
My question then is, can a law Office produce a case against you and have a court case filed without actually filing it with the courts?
I did once have to serve someone with a restraining order and I had to get the local sheriff's involved, so I know if you need to get legal documents in someone's hands it will happen. The fact that I have yet to receive anything from them raises many questions.
