A Lady Hit My Car And Won’t Give Me Her Insurance?! What Can I Do?!

Card image cap

My car was parked and I was inside the store I come out to my car to see some damage on my back bumper. I go to check my car all around and thankfully the person who hit my car left a note with their number and taking ownership that she hit my car.

I made a police report. And got the case number. The cop said he would get in contact with the person and me and get us to swap insurance. Well that never happened.

I texted the person and they once again confirmed that they hit my car and are willing to pay for the damages. Me being a dumbass and being way to nice. I forgot to ask for her insurance.(I like to think good people still exist)

Anyways I told them I would go get an estimate on the damage and would let them know how much it’ll be.

Turns out it’s about 1k and they “don’t have that chilling around” (like if that’s my problem????) she then said to be patient with her bc she’s busy with “work”

It’s been a few days and I kept letting her slide! Waiting for her to either give me her insurance or pay cash (she wanted to see if she can pay cash and not get her insurance involved)

It’s getting to the point where I feel like she’s just ganna ghost me and never respond to me about giving me her insurance.

I’m in a position where I am blessed enough to pay for the damages done to my car. But how is it fair that I have to do that when it wasn’t my fault.

I’m on the verge of filing and sueing her for negligence, hit and run, damages, and legal fees.

I also have her on dashcam witch I don’t think she knows.

What would you do in this situation?! I’m starting to get angry at this point. And starting to think she probably doesn’t even have insurance. So maybe even snitch on her for that too. I’m just sick of being taken advantage of all the time . I need some advice

I may be overwhelmed and reacting a little bit. But any advice of what I can do next will help ! TIA
