150k Settlement Was Rescinded By The City Of Newyork After Waiting Over 13 Years.
The settlement was reached following a guilty verdict by my assaulter, I won’t go into much details but the city of newyork found him liable of criminal and punitive damages, he was sentenced and died of a heart attack in prison. My lawyer found that he had a teachers retirement fund under the city of newyork, he also had a pension and we settled with the camp/school. Total settlements are roughly 200k of which I received nothing after 13 years. This assault took place when I was 5 and I am now 18; as the title says the teachers retirement council that settled for the 150k was recently rescinded and they no longer are willing to pay out. Idk how legal that is on their part as it was settled in court and both parties came to an agreement. I need advice on what to do from here because I have mounting therapy bills from this incident, definitely the single worst thing to happen in my life and it destroyed a big part of me and I still have received not a cent. Please anything helps.
