(missouri) Is It Legal For My Landlord To Listen Inside Of My Apartment By Pressing Their Ear Against The Door And/or Through The Vents In The Attic?

My neighbor that lives across from me brought it to my attention that my landlord has, on multiple occasions, had their ear pressed up to my front door and they also caught them leaving the attic and speaking about not being able to see/hear anything going on inside my apartment. I’ve also heard them in the attic around my vents, so the timing of what she shared with me lined up with when I heard that happening.
Is this legal, or just really fucking creepy? My attempts to Google this have brought back results about landlords installing security cameras, which I feel is a different matter of sorts and obviously easier to prove since there’d be the physical evidence of a camera being there.
*****ADDITIONAL DETAILS, ADDED AFTER POSTING: The reason they’re doing any of this is because of my downstairs neighbor. He claims that I make “excessive noise.” I don’t so much as own a television and don’t listen to music or anything, and the times in which he’s even complaining about I’m usually not home.
I’ve proved on multiple occasions that I don’t have pets, do not walk loudly, don’t run my appliances during quiet hours, installed a camera that triggers when he’s threateningly come to my door or pounded on his ceiling. He’s called the police 6 times, claiming it sounded like I had dogs running around at 3AM and that it woke him up. Despite numerous attempts to prove that the sound is NOT emanating from my residence, the landlord continues to allow the harassment and the police continue to show up. I’ve quite literally provided footage from an entire 24 hour period where he “reacted” to noise that either was not there or was normal walking (and I’ve had a shitty upstairs neighbor, I am extremely careful about how I walk and never wear shoes past the front door.) Both me and the person in question have tried to get out of our lease agreements — him because he claims it’s just too loud here, and me because I’m tired of being harassed/threatened. He quit coming to my door, because the police said he’d be arrested, but continues to bang on his ceiling and call the police at random. They want to charge me $7,500 to terminate my lease, and same with him. Not only do we live on the same block as a train station, there’s also a junk yard and construction company across from our side of the building and the building’s drainage system is on our side of the building as well. Basically, it’s almost ALWAYS loud. No matter how much I’ve shown him precisely what the noises were emanating from, or that I wasn’t even home for a significant amount of his complaints, both him and my landlord seem to believe that I’m somehow responsible for the noise.
It seems they’ve taken it upon themselves to “investigate” this, and I’m extremely uneasy/uncomfortable about the idea that I have people SPYING on me at random in my own residence that I pay for. The front door thing is generally very weird, but trying to look/listen in through my vents is fucking scary to me.
My neighbor called them out for being weird for what they were doing when she caught the attic thing, and they not only told her that it was none of her business but also denied her lease renewal. When she asked why, the property manager told her that “there’s consequences for not minding her own business.”
One final edit Not sure why I’m getting downvoted for asking. In my mind this is all a huge invasion of privacy, more so the listening/looking in through vents thing than anything else. It’s made the idea of bringing sexual partners into my home or even trying to get out of the shower extremely uncomfortable, because I have no idea if I’m being secretly watched through my vents. I’m just asking to gain knowledge, and tried to offer as many details as I could.
