(california) Dealership Sent Me Home Because I Interviewed Somewhere Else, Is This Legal?

I’ve been at this dealership less than 3 months and I gave it a shot, but it’s ass. I interviewed down the street, interviewed with every manager, and the GM wants me to interview with the owner this week. One of my managers got word and called me in the office verbatim “I overheard you interviewed at _____, I don’t want you to collect hours. Go home”

Is this legal lol? Do I treat this as if I was fired? Should I email the HR and cc my manager + GM and ask for a written statement that I was fired or let go early because I interviewed at another dealership? Thank you
