The NFL world was struck with sad news on Thursday: former Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman passed away at the age of 38 following a battle with a rare form of cancer.
Braman, who was a member of the Eagles' 2017 Super Bowl championship team, is survived by his two daughters, Blakely, 11, and Marlowe, 8. He once called his daughters and his Super Bowl victory “the three greatest accomplishments in my life.”
He was diagnosed with cancer in February, and a GoFundMe campaign was launched to support his medical expenses. It raised nearly $88,000 — a reflection of the love and respect he earned throughout his career and life.
Due to NFL policy, players are only eligible for league-provided health insurance for five years after retirement.
Braman’s final NFL game was Super Bowl LII, in which the Eagles captured their first championship. That victory also marked the end of his professional football career.
Forever a Super Bowl champ.
