THE Pag-IBIG Fund said it has approved a one-month payment moratorium for members whose livelihoods were disrupted by recent calamities.

Payment moratoriums are standard components of government disaster-response frameworks, often implemented after typhoons, earthquakes, and other natural calamities.

In Nov. 11, Sen. Imee Marcos requested the reprieve, citing the urgent need to ease the financial burden on workers, farmers, cooperatives, and small business owners affected by disasters that recently hit the country.

“I am very grateful to Pag-IBIG because they heeded my call to grant members a grace period. This is a great help to workers, farmers, cooperatives, and small business owners because they are the first to lose income during a disaster,” the senator said.

Pag-IBIG said the moratorium is part of its wider Calamity Response Package, which aims to support members in affected regions. The package includes housing insurance coverage, calamity loan program, and home improvement loan.
