Ohio State Vs. Rutgers Score Predictions: Can The Buckeyes Extend Their Winning Streak Against The Scarlet Knights?

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State enters its final home game of the regular season once again a heavy favorite.

The Buckeyes will face Rutgers for what will be the 10th time since the Scarlet Knights joined the Big Ten in 2014. They’ve won every meeting, with the only time they’ve scored less than 49 points coming in 2023.

Our staff made game predictions based on DraftKings’ 31.5point spread with an over/under point total of 55.5. Once again, we are betting Buckeye Talk tokens, starting with a bankroll of 100 and seeing who can grow their bankroll the most — or simply avoid losing it — over the course of the season.

Ohio State 45, Rutgers 10

Ohio State needs to get its starters out of this game as quickly as possible with Michigan on deck, so I anticipate a purposeful hot start from the Buckeyes. With or without Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, offensive coordinator Brian Hartline will have an aggressive approach against a lowly Rutgers defense.

Explosives will be available in the running game, but I also expect Ohio State’s secondary receivers — Mylan Graham, Bryson Rodgers and Quincy Porter — to make some memorable plays.

In the second half, backup quarterback Lincoln Kienholz should get a fair share of snaps. For someone who might entertain transferring in hopes of finding a starting job during the offseason, getting film on tape will be important.

Ohio State takes care of business and cruises to a win over Rutgers, accomplishing everything it needs to.

Namely? Keeping everyone healthy and getting them ready to play Michigan.

The Buckeyes are obviously banged up at receiver, and I don’t think it’ll be the cleanest operation getting everyone acclimated to that new lineup. But, it won’t be enough to make this a game.

Ohio State wins easily, and heads to Michigan 11-0.
