4 Months Unpaid(ish) And Trapped

So I am currently on my 4th month with an employer who has refused to pay me any wages (minus a small amount monthly which ill explain soon). I'd really like to know what I cna to in Texas to get back wages or if its possible. But to start let me explain my situation:

I started with a resturant in May that has a side that does catering and festivals/events. At the interview with the owner of the business he told me that He pays through his payroll company for any hours we worked in the returant and any festival/event we did was cash on the day the event ended and were all paid as indepentdent contractors with no taxes taken out. Which i was more than fine with. He has given me a trailer to stay in on the property with the electrical included. He asked me what id be willing to be payed taking that into consideration, and i told him that I NEED to pay my child support of 400$ onthly BARE MINIMUM and he agreed. He took that as ONLY 400 a month but I didnt realize this until a month into working there. Which is when the 4 month of no pay (minus just that 400/mo) started.

Now this Owner has a run of 6 state fairs and festivals from the beginning of July Through November. We Leave North Texas in July and hit Illinois State Fair in Springfiled, then to Du Quoin, then to Cape Girardeau Missouri, then The Tulsa State Fair, Tulsa Oktoberfest, Then The Galveston Biker Rally. Gone on the road the whole time. I was asked and agreed to tag along under the assumption that the pay was going to be structured how he told me festival and event were structured.

The first stop we went to the owner had implimented a time sheet and had me and another employee deemed "managers" and left us in charge of recording all clock in and clock out times of all other employees. Which we did including our own, but when that fair ended and the time sheets were turned in everyone was payed based on the hours they worked except me. 141 hours in 11 days. I didnt say anything when everyone was recieving their cash on payday because I assumed i worked the most and maybe the boss didnt want eveyone else seeing. i dont honestly know, and i dont knoestly know why i didnt say anything after not recieveing anything after everyone else. I just Thought i was waiting for some reason.

Well, then we packeed up and moved to the next event that very next morning, setup, build out, all distracting me until the next show started was worked and time came again where everyone got paid except me. 131 hours in 11 days. this time I planned on and confronted my boss about the pay. But as I was stating to explain myself my boss cut me off and told me (paraphrasing) " Mom (resturant is named after his mom) and i are extremely thankful for all the hard work youve done and are trying to work on a big way of showing our thanks" Which then seemed to explain the not getting paid. my mind raced thinking he wanted to try to help me get a place or a car or all sorts of things and It mamde me kinda forget the first two events thinking i was gonna get a big pay off.

Its now the middle of november. I have my hours saved i have my google timeline labled every place i went for the job when i was at the festivlas working, when i left to do anything work related, and have totaled my hours to 710. I have revieved 1600 for Child support and He did buy me a phone replacement and took me to get glasses when a pair of mine broke totaling another 1000 total.

Anyone asking why i let this get this far I just want to say that the type of person i workfor is no who i thought it was when i was hired. this is a man who went to a church based homeless shelter to get people to come on the road with him, fired one immidiently in springfirled stranding this man states away from where he lives, and will literally fire you not pay you and call the cops. we left on this trip with 9 employees including me and im the only one who made it back. So thats whe type of boss.

I just dont know what to do, he has me completely hemmed up. and again i didnt know this was this bad until i was on the road no way to get home wihtout him. Im trrapped in this job because to quit is to lose my house my ability to pay child support everything. i need to get out.

Ive worked the entire thing only recieveing enough to pay child support and keep me out of jail but have not recieved anything else (minus a replacement cellphone to call me and replacemnt glasses because i need to see to work) Hes an angry self centered person who ive seen literally offer homepless poeple jobs and a place to stay while working on the road only to then fire and strand one a thousand miles north of their home right as winter starts with no remorse. I'm stuck living in my bosses trailer working for free and i need to get out
